# your.ls — Free URL Shortener

> Free URL shortener. Paste a URL, get a shorter one. No accounts, no tracking pixels, no expiration. Links live until you remove them.

## What your.ls is

your.ls is a free URL shortener operated by S.EE. It takes a long URL and returns a short alias of the form `your.ls/<keyword>`. Visiting the short URL redirects straight to the original destination — no interstitial, no tracking page, no "please wait".

No account is required to create a short link. There are no dashboards, no link expiration, and no upsells in the free tier.

## How it works

1. Paste any `http://` or `https://` URL into the homepage input. If the scheme is missing, `https://` is auto-prepended.
2. Click "Shorten it". A Cloudflare Turnstile challenge appears in a centered modal to verify the request is human.
3. On success, the response shows the generated short URL with:
   - A one-click Copy button
   - Direct-share buttons for X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, and WhatsApp

## Commitments

### Your links stay put
No auto-expiration. A link is only taken down if the creator asks, or if it breaks the Terms of Service.

### Your clicks aren't for sale
Click data is logged at the minimum level needed to detect abuse. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

### Your redirects are direct
No tracking interstitials. No "please wait" pages. One click, one jump to the destination URL.

## When a short link fails

If a short URL returns a 404, it's one of three cases:
1. The keyword was never created (typo, or the person who shared it dictated wrong)
2. The your.ls team removed it for Terms violation
3. The original creator asked for removal

your.ls does not disclose which of the three applies, to protect the privacy of the person who made the link.

## Paid features (via S.EE)

The free your.ls service does not include analytics, custom domains, or APIs. These features — and more — are available on the paid plans at S.EE:

- Click analytics (destination, referrer, country-level geo)
- Custom slugs (memorable, non-random keywords)
- Branded short domain (e.g. `brand.link/x` instead of `your.ls/x`)
- API access for programmatic link creation
- Text sharing (pastebin-style text snippets)
- File sharing (upload and distribute via short URL)
